End of London

Thursday London people watching while waiting to meet some one is fascinating. All walks of life and states of mentality, a myriad of different dress styles, hair colours, shoe heights, digital tools. Mst stand not was the boy with the Mohawk(blue), with tin tin shirts, striped shiny waistcoat over a bright shirt, red socks and shoes with 10 centimetre platforms, chatting loudly on a cell phone. So now we know all about his worldly problems. In good item Andy turned up and we made out way into Westfield to the apple store, HUGe like everything else. Apparently they have a customer services policy that you have to be served within 4 minutes, so was swept down on by a tall young man, who looked a bit worried when I asked for an iPad 4 sd card reader, and in fact I found It before he did, probably nota good look on the apple store customer services survey. Hand held transaction devices, receipt e mailed to you. Total time of interaction. 5 and a half minutes, before Andy and M had got half way int the shop! Lazy time over coffee, a central line tube trip to Lancaster Gate and a saunter through Hyde Park. Squirrels out in force, Peter Pan statue, the serpentine lido, business men doing laps, crossing Hyde Park Corner, not just agreed man telling us to cross, but agree horse to tell the park riders it was safe to cross too, trying to guess the people who had statues built to them, walking then through Green Park, to meet Andy's girlfriend for a picnic lunch. Another place where cultures meet. We were soon alerted to the fact that there must have been a posh 'do' somewhere close and in amongst the business people hurrying by, the tourists and the young at heart, were many well helped, poshly dressed and obviously aristocratic bods. Most wore designer outfits, and fancy hats. One lady walked past, well dressed, with a butler in tow, white shirt, black tails, about three paces behind her carrying a hatbox. All was revealed as we left our picnic spot and moved down to Buckingham Palace, past the cavalry on guard at St James Palace. There were lots of rich cars parked in special places along the mall, and many people dressed to impress making their way to the palace. Of course the Garden Party! And what a shame we forgot our invitation! Quite a spectacle actually. On through St James Park, and to Westminster where we boarded a boat to cruise to Greenwich. So many landmarks from the comfort of a boat. The interesting oats were the eastern wharves that were once derelict and now are transformed init expensive apartments. The river Thames itself is much cleaner than I have seen it in the past, and the whole trip was pleasurable. The pictures will tell the story. Andy cam back for a drink at then Brooke Green Hotel before we bade a find farewell,
