Sunday morning was spent getting ourselves glamourous, well we tried our best, but we really needed renovating like some of the houses in the street, a spot of poly filla would nave filled in some if the cracks! However, dressed up we sallied forth, though I had out on jeans and sneakers as we had a fair amount of walking to do before we reached out destination, taking my lad rags with me. Tube to Putney bridge, walk across bridge and through the streets of Putney to our destination , the Dukes Head pub. Climbing the steep stairs we entered the Wolseley Room. Big windows with sun streaming through them, the place decorated for a party, and lovely family already there sprinkling glitter and fancy bits over a huge table. As time went on the door would open and more familiar and well loved faces would come through the door. And a cousin we had not we for many many years was introduced. During the next four hours there were tears and laughter, memories, new friends, speeches, catching up with family news, food and wine, champagne and cake. All too soon, the balloons and glitter were cleared, the windows shut now against the drizzling rain, and people saying goodbye. A great way to spend a Sunday, memorable in so many ways, not the least was meeting Peter's friends and discovering a published copy of his Biking Journal. Thanks to all for the contributions you made to a great day.
